Creative Center of North Carolina was proud to participate in IdeasCityWS Marketplace of Ideas Festival on October 2, 2021, in Downtown Winston-Salem’s Bailey Park.

We enjoyed seeing everyone who came by our interactive tent exhibition, where we gave away almost two hundred DIY Origami Moravian Star Kits. These kits contained everything you need to fold your own Origami Moravian Star: instructions, and four strips of delicate origami paper (each printed with a different, unique fact about Winston-Salem). The kits served as storytelling vehicles, educating attendees on our community’s rich creative legacy, and the role Creative Center plays in building its brightest future. We also showcased an interactive asset mapping poll, which invited attendees to answer the question:

Where does creativity show up in Winston-Salem?

The IdeasCityWS Marketplace Of Ideas Festival was the culmination of a multi-year collaboration between the New Museum of NYC, Wake Forest University, and the City of Winston-Salem. It featured interactive exhibits from two dozen local creative organizations representing contributions in art, tech, design, and culture.
